Gold extends losing streak, US jobs data in focus

Gold futures retreated more than 2% in Asian electronic trading on Tuesday, extending their decline for a third consecutive session as elevated US Treasury yields continued to exert pressure on bullion. Treasury yields climbed to their highest level since January 2025, amid renewed Middle East tensions and mounting concerns over inflationary pressures. Market participants now await the ADP employment report on Wednesday and Friday’s nonfarm payrolls data for further insight into the Federal Reserve’s monetary-policy trajectory. Domestic bullion futures declined over 1.5% to Rs.1,52,467 per 10 grams, while silver futures fell nearly 2% to Rs.2,35,318 per kg.
