Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index declines 1.98%

Nifty IT index ended down 1.98% at 31553.4 today. The index is up 12.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mphasis Ltd slipped 3.83%, Infosys Ltd fell 3.43% and Tech Mahindra Ltd shed 1.92%. The Nifty IT index is down 12.00% over last one year compared to the 12.48% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index added 1.45% and Nifty Consumer Durables index increased 1.41% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.22% to close at 22698.85 while the SENSEX is down 0.48% to close at 73246.03 today.
