Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index records a surge of 5.22%, NIFTY climbs 1.60%

Nifty IT index ended up 5.22% at 29830.1 today. The index has added 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, HCL Technologies Ltd jumped 8.42%, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd gained 6.79% and Tech Mahindra Ltd rose 4.93%. The Nifty IT index has decreased 16.00% over last one year compared to the 9.93% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index increased 2.46% and Nifty Services Sector index increased 2.08% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 1.60% to close at 22721.95 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 1.54% to close at 73033.78 today.
