The key equity barometers traded with limited gains in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 23122-23030. Nifty Realty, Nifty Consumer Durables and Nifty Private Bank shares rose, while Nifty Healthcare Index and Nifty Pharma shares declined.

NIFTY posted steep losses of 1.64% in last session and recorded sharp losses of 4.77% over last one-week.

At 12:15 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, up 116.72 points to 73,697.26. The Nifty 50 index posted modest gains of 11.45 points or 0.05% to 23,074.55.

The broader market underperformed the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index posted modest losses of 0.51% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index moved lower by 0.32%.

The market breadth was fragile. On the BSE, 2257 shares gained and 2563 shares retreated. A total of 261 shares were unchanged.

Nifty Realty index edged higher by 0.56% to 866. The index has shed 6.07% in last one month and inched down 3.28% over last one year. Oberoi Realty, inching higher 1.51%, led the gainers followed by A B Real Estate, adding 1.48% and DLF, edging up 1.14%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 6 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Consumer Durables index moved higher by 0.49% to 38102. The index has fallen 6.27% in last one month and edged lower by 1.85% over last one year. Whirlpool India, moving higher 6.48%, led the gainers followed by LG Electronics, gaining 1.30% and Blue Star, up 1.28%, respectively. Out of 13 index constituents, 8 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Healthcare Index index moved lower by 0.59%. The index has posted modest gains of 2.07% in last one month and posted strong gains of 15.05% over last one year. Fortis Health., losing 3.36%, led the losers followed by Max Healthcare, edging lower 2.37% and Glenmark Pharma., slipping 2.33%, respectively. Out of 20 index constituents, 15 are reporting loss today.

Asian markets slipped on Friday. China’s Shanghai composite is significantly lower by 1.22%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is substantially lower by 1.38%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is firmly higher by 1.30%.

In Europe, German DAX edged up 0.18%, UK’s FTSE 100 drifted lower 0.24% and French CAC eased 0.52%.

In Commodities, MCX Crude oil registered heavy losses of 2.38% to trade at Rs 9,152 per barrel.
