The key equity barometers traded with modest losses in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 23489-23399. Nifty Realty, Nifty Chemicals and Nifty Metal shares advanced, while Nifty IT and Nifty PSU Bank shares fell.

At 10:45 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, down 155.08 points to 74,703.91. The Nifty 50 index posted modest losses of 14.15 points or 0.06% to 23,400.15.

The broader market surpassed the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index moved higher by 0.19% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index edged lower by 0.15%.

The market breadth was healthy. On the BSE, 2554 shares rose and 2050 shares declined. A total of 268 shares were unchanged.

Nifty Realty index added 0.62% to 859. The index has retreated 6.34% in last one month and lost 7.35% over last one year. Anant Raj, gaining 1.73%, led the gainers followed by DLF, inching higher 1.21% and Sobha, edging up 1.10%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 9 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Chemicals index posted modest gains of 0.61% to 29483. The index has slipped by 2.54% in last one month and inched up 0.42% over last one year. P I Industries, adding 2.87%, led the gainers followed by Solar Industries, up 2.87% and Deepak Nitrite, inching higher 1.81%, respectively. Out of 20 index constituents, 12 are reporting gains today.

Nifty IT index fell 1.26%. The index has fallen 5.57% in last one month and plunged 18.79% over last one year. LTM, easing 3.88%, led the losers followed by HCL Technologies, down 2.55% and Infosys, losing 1.92%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 9 are reporting loss today.

Sectoral performance is mixed, with 7 of 14 indices trading in the green. Nifty Realty index has recorded steep losses of 6.34% in last one month and is lower by 7.35% over last year. Nifty IT index is sharply lower by 5.57% in last one month and has posted steep losses of 18.79% over last one year.

From NIFTY50 index, Pine Labs, Vodafone Idea AND JP Power Ven. are leading in terms of volumes today, clocking turnover of 106518.13 lakh shares, 1863.28 lakh shares and 618.82 lakh shares respectively.

Asian markets gained on Tuesday. China’s Shanghai composite is marginally higher by 0.16%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is modestly higher by 0.17%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is substantially higher by 1.38%.

NIFTY50 Sep-26 futures are in discount of 16.35 points today.
