The key equity barometers traded with minor losses in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 24297-24178. Nifty Private Bank, Nifty Pharma and Nifty Realty shares gained, while Nifty Media and Nifty FMCG shares declined.

At 10:45 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, down 187.05 points to 77,285.89. The Nifty 50 index posted modest losses of 23.50 points or 0.10% to 24,184.25.

The broader market outperformed the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index edged lower by 0.11% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index inched down 0.03%.

The market breadth was weak. On the BSE, 2056 shares advanced and 2470 shares fell. A total of 264 shares were unchanged.

Nifty Private Bank index inched up 0.50% to 27872. The index has edged up 1.24% in last one month and edged higher by 5.29% over last one year. Kotak Mah. Bank, up 1.93%, led the gainers followed by RBL Bank, gaining 0.85% and ICICI Bank, edging up 0.77%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 6 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Pharma index posted modest gains of 0.42% to 26738. The index has inched higher by 2.62% in last one month and spiked 21.08% over last one year. Zydus Lifesci., inching higher 1.09%, led the gainers followed by Divi's Lab., adding 0.90% and Laurus Labs, up 0.87%, respectively. Out of 20 index constituents, 14 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Media index edged lower by 0.60%. The index has moved higher by 3.01% in last one month and posted modest losses of 0.19% over last one year. Netwrk.18 Media, down 2.43%, led the losers followed by PVR Inox, slipping 1.51% and Prime Focus, easing 1.11%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 9 are reporting loss today.

Out of 14 sectoral indices on NSE, 8 are in green today. Nifty Private Bank index has added 1.24% in last one month and is higher by 5.29% over last year. Nifty Media index has jumped 3.01% in last one month and is slightly lower by 0.19% over last one year.

From NIFTY50 index, GMR Airports, ICICI AMC AND Vodafone Idea are leading in terms of volumes today, clocking turnover of 17405.7 lakh shares, 327288.92 lakh shares and 1431.71 lakh shares respectively.

Asian markets traded slightly higher on Thursday. China’s Shanghai composite is trading higher by 0.71%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is down 0.32%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is marginally lower by 0.16%.
