Lenskart faces Rs 13.17 crore customs duty and penalty demand from New Delhi authorities

Lenskart Solutions Limited has received an Order-in-Original dated September 18, 2026, from the Office of the Principal Commissioner of Customs in New Delhi, concerning the classification of imported optical eyeframes with clip-on, resulting in a quantifiable demand of Rs 13,17,25,860 for customs duty and penalty, excluding applicable interest. The company, which believes the order is contestable, intends to challenge it before an appellate authority and expects a favorable outcome, noting that the matter was previously disclosed as a contingent liability in its audited financial statements for the year ended March 2026 and has no material impact on operations.
