Quick Wrap: Nifty Private Bank Index rises 2.38%

Nifty Private Bank index closed up 2.38% at 24242.65 today. The index is down 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd added 9.21%, IDFC First Bank Ltd jumped 2.01% and RBL Bank Ltd gained 1.97%. The Nifty Private Bank index is up 2.00% over last one year compared to the 8.22% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index added 1.99% and Nifty Bank index gained 1.67% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.61% to close at 23344.75 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.59% to close at 77073.44 today.
