Air passenger services register gains, Service PPI shows

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry released data for the new Service Producer Price Index (Service PPI). The index for air passenger services surged to 126.4 in Q1 FY27 from 106.9 in the last quarter, marking the largest increase. Annual inflation in this category was 31.94%. Prices rose for management of pension funds by 5.20%, railway services by 1.27%, insurance by 0.98%, and telecom by 0.72%. Banking services fell by 3.35%, and securities transaction services decreased by 1.32%.
