HFCL’s board approved Rs 820 crore expansion of fiber and cable manufacturing capacity

HFCL Limited announced that its Board of Directors has approved an expansion of its Optical Fiber, Optical Fiber Cable, and Preform manufacturing capacities, involving a total capital expenditure of Rs 820 crore. This expansion, in addition to previously approved investments, will increase HFCL’s Optical Fiber capacity to 43.10 million kilometers, Optical Fiber Cable capacity to 62.00 million kilometers, and establish a Preform manufacturing capacity of 600 metric tons annually. The move is driven by growing demand for optical communication products, particularly from hyperscale data centers, AI infrastructure, and telecom network modernization, and is expected to be funded through a mix of internal accruals, warrants, and borrowings.
