Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index gains 2.42%

Nifty Media index ended up 2.42% at 2040.6 today. The index has gained 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tips Industries Ltd rose 6.99%, PVR Inox Ltd added 4.94% and Sun TV Network Ltd jumped 3.45%. The Nifty Media index has soared 17.00% over last one year compared to the 25.81% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty IT index gained 1.97% and Nifty MNC index gained 1.00% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.55% to close at 24141.95 while the SENSEX increased 0.56% to close at 79476.19 today.
